Με το λύχνο του άστρου στους ουρανούς εβγήκα
στο αγιάζι των λειμώνων στη μόνη ακτή του κόσμου
που να βρω την ψυχή μου το τετράφυλλο δάκρυ!

Τα κορίτσια μου πένθος για τους αιώνες έχουν
Τ’ αγόρια μου τουφέκια κρατούν και δεν κατέχουν
που να βρω την ψυχή μου το τετράφυλλο δάκρυ!

By the light of the stars

By the light of the stars I went out into the heavens
into the frost of the meadows, on the world's only shore
where can I find my soul, the four leaf tear!

My girls are in mourning for the ages
And my boys carry rifles yet do not know
where can I find my soul, the four leaf tear!

The interpretation partly references the authorized translation in print of the poem "The Axion Esti" by Edmond Keeley and George Savidis (Anvil Press Poetry Ltd, 2007, ISBN 978 0 85646 356 3).
